The origin of Sangokorallen

These special marine corals originate from Japan. There, they are found only in the vicinity of the island of Okinawa. The island’s inhabitants are exceptionally fit and live to a ripe old age. This fact was first noticed by the Japanese man Nobuo Someya as early as the 1950s.
Someya investigated the matter and discovered that the key difference compared to other regions lay in the drinking water. The water, enriched with marine corals, proved to be exceptionally pure and pleasant-tasting.
The island of Okinawa is situated on what was once a coral reef. When it rains, the water seeps into the coral mountains, releasing large quantities of minerals and trace elements that can be detected in the drinking water.

The Island of Centenarians

In 1980, the editor-in-chief of the Guinness Institute was sent to the island of Okinawa. The aim was to interview the world’s oldest living person there. Shigshio Izumi was found to be 115 years old, fit and cheerful.
The man spoke of his active life. Izumi had even worked regularly right up until he was 105. The elderly man died in 1986. He lived to the age of 121 and is just one example of the large number of fit elderly people who seem to be concentrated on the island of Okinawa.

Sango corals as a source of calcium and magnesium

These marine corals are a good source of minerals. A daily dose of 2.4 grams of coral powder contains 576 milligrams of calcium and 266 milligrams of magnesium.
