Reviews FAQs

About whole coriander

Our organic coriander seeds come from coriander plants from controlled organic cultivation. They are natural, gently dried and supplied whole so the aroma is preserved for as long as possible.

Use

Use the seeds whole or crush them in a mortar shortly before cooking to intensify their sweet, woody flavor. Coriander is excellent in Arabic, Asian and Central American dishes, as well as salads, soups, vegetables, curries, meat, fish, bread and baked goods.

Tip

Lightly roast the organic coriander seeds before use to bring out a particularly pleasant nutty aroma.

Origin and quality

The seeds come from controlled organic cultivation in Italy and are gently dried after harvest. They are filled and labeled in our own production rooms and checked regularly.

FAQ

Whole or crushed coriander?
Both are possible. Crushed seeds release their aroma faster and should be used soon after crushing.

You can use coriander seeds either whole or crushed. They are excellent for Arabic, Asian, Central American, and European dishes and give salads, soups, vegetables, meat, fish, and baked goods a sweet-woody note.
By lightly roasting the coriander seeds, their delicious nutty aroma unfolds. This intensifies the flavor and makes it even more versatile in use.
Traditionally, coriander is used in herbal medicine, especially for digestive issues such as bloating or flatulence. It contains essential oils that can stimulate the appetite and have a soothing effect on the stomach.
Coriander can, in rare cases, trigger cross-allergies, especially in people who are allergic to birch pollen. Essential coriander oil can also cause irritation on sensitive skin when used in high concentrations.
Coriander leaves have a lemony-spicy flavor and are often used fresh, especially in Asian dishes. The seeds, on the other hand, have a sweet-woody aroma and are ideal for seasoning or roasting when dried.
