Origin and production of psyllium seeds
Psyllium seeds come from the Plantago psyllium plant, a member of the plantain family. Our organic psyllium seeds are grown on slightly sandy soils in India, where sunny and dry conditions are important for growth.
After harvesting, the seeds are gently dried and impurities are removed with air separation. This gives a product with 99% purity and raw-food quality. Cultivation in India is regulated according to EU organic standards, with regular laboratory checks by German control bodies.
Important notes
Because psyllium seeds swell strongly, it is important to drink enough liquid. After taking psyllium seeds, drink about 1-2 glasses of water so the seeds can swell properly in the stomach.
Psyllium seeds should not be taken at the same time as medication, as they can delay or reduce the absorption of active ingredients. If in doubt, consult your doctor.
FAQ
These organic psyllium seeds are whole seeds. They naturally contain both the protein-rich seed core and the fibre-rich husk, and are naturally gluten-free.
